A bug lurking for 12 years gives attackers root on most major Linux distros

So.....*nix is as long-term vulnerable as Windows, with attack vectors unknown for years. Except by hackers.
nothing new here. The people that preach on the problems of windows as if everything else were perfect are largely living in 1995. They are all full of holes, and they all try reasonably hard to plug them when found.
Speaking of security holes, Minnesota U. was recently banned from submitting Linux kernel patches.
